There are good reasons to believe that numerous earlier cases of racist murders of Vietnamese immigrants were never reported, and that it was only the culture of institutionalised ignorance regarding far right violence in Germany – apparent long before the series of terror attacks by the “National Socialist Underground” became a news item – that led to the specific political background and racist motives of previous murderers never being identified and discovered.
